K-While you were there did you see any sort of education, did you see any of these big companies putting anything back into island at all?

C-No, it does create jobs, but you are going in and changing the type of jobs that they are used to doing, you are changing their culture. It is all happening so drastically and so fast. There is a loss of language happening there is a loss of culture happening. When you go and change things that quickly it is very dangerous. How do you expect people to keep up with it?

K-How do you change it because people buy all those things.
E-That is the way you change it, don’t buy it, make it yourself or buy small.

C-Vote with your money. If you stop buying companies products because of a reason and they start finding that out maybe they will start changing the way that they will start changing the way the do things. Look at Chevron, the huge campaign “We Care” they are doing all these environmentally friendly things, but on one hand they are doing that but they are also…. But more emphasis needs to be put on fair trade and what does fair trade mean.

K-Is the fashion industry as imbedded in other cultures as well?
C-In all first world countries it is a huge profit, the idea of having new stuff and the latest trend. In a lot of first world cultures we don’t have a lot of stuff that brings us together

and identifies us as a culture, so product is what does that.

K-So if you had a magic wand and you could do whatever you wanted to do with ReMade in America what would you do?
C-I just want to keep making stuff and inspire people to do the same.
E-If we could sell enough, and make enough money to cover our costs, along with inspire people to make it themselves.

C-I would love to be to have it so we could showcase artist that I felt inspired me and that had good things to say and that I respected. The very last thing that is says on our mission statement is do it yourself of come do it with us. We are not concerned about competition or about other people doing exactly what we are doing.

E-People can take that into life in general try to be more self sufficient. Reuse and Recycle.
