Opium Den – 2012, maybe 2013

Before July 10, 2010, I did a weekly radio show called the Opium Den, up in Ukiah California on a little in-town radical radio station, KMEC, 105.1. My show was Friday nights from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and sometimes my daughter would come with me and do two hours of her picked out songs. I played an eclectic mix of genres and really enjoyed putting the shows together after dropping the kids off at school. PJ Harvey is my favorite singer/songwriter. When you called my phone, back in the day, you didnʼt hear a ring, you got one of her songs. Drove people mad. I did a write up I did after I saw her in Los Angeles in 2007. * My daughter and I drove down to L.A. together in my little 1984 381i in 2009, but I didnʼt find anything Iʼve written about that experience. I do remember she was excited to miss school, but was a little bored at the show. She was one of the only kids, and we didnʼt have seats this time, we had to stand, and she was tired. I hope she has some recollection of it when she is older and can appreciate it more.
